Remix Project

Author's Note:

The focus I chose for this infographic was on poverty and underfunding in American schools and how it affected the education experience for students. Through this remix, I wanted to piece together information and visuals to show people how big of an issue underfunding in American education really is. It's an issue that affects millions of students in the US and over half of all school districts. It's also affecting the ability of students to learn due to lack of resources and bad conditions. I chose an infographic to show this because it's the simplest and most effective way to put all the information, like statistics and also facts and writing all together to show my point. In creating my remix, I had to worry about things like font, colors, and composition that makes the visuals look good. I chose a font that's easy to read but also serious so that it fits the serious tone of the infographic and is easily understandable. I also chose colors that are duller like brown that I feel like fit the serious tone and mood. I think that my remix puts together information and visuals from various different places to form an infographic that gives a complete picture of the true nature of poverty and funding and inequality in American Education.
