Who am I?
Hi,
I’m Stanley Wang. I’m an Asian American, and my family originated from Shanghai, China. I was born in Connecticut, lived in Shanghai and then Virginia for a few years, and then returned back to CT. I graduated from Glastonbury High School in 2024, and I’m now a Freshman at the University of Connecticut.

I have a passion for fixing and building computers and other electronics. In the past few years, I've gotten into fixing broken computers. I like buying broken electronics off of eBay, and then spend my time troubleshooting, taking apart, soldering, and more, which takes a lot of problem solving and patience. I’m currently studying computer engineering at UConn, where I hope to learn and design computer hardware and architecture.

Throughout my time at high school and now at UConn, I’ve also taken many computer science classes where I’ve created projects such as a fully functional multiplayer replica of the hit game Among Us. I've spent countless hours coding which also requires a lot of troubleshooting and patience to find bugs and errors.

I’m also an avid musician, and I’ve spent over a decade of hard work and dedication learning piano and clarinet. In the past, I’ve participated in many competitions and auctions for both piano and clarinet, and I’ve won awards and even made it into the Connecticut All State Music Festival in high school for clarinet. I’m currently a member of the UConn marching band, which performs at all of UConn’s home games.

I hope to use both my current knowledge in coding and computers as well as my determination, patience, and problem-solving abilities that I have gained from experience to achieve my goal of becoming a computer engineer. My future plans are to graduate school and then aid in the development of computer chips and hardware at companies such as AMD, Intel, and Nvidia.
